TEACHER TRAINING SCHOOLS

APTAE works in coordination with associations from other countries under the umbrella of the international association ATAS (Alexander Technique Affiliated Societies), which establishes basic regulations for its certified schools.

The training of a student in an Alexander Technique school must include a minimum of 1,600 teaching hours over a period of not less than three years. The ratio of the number of students to teachers may not be more than 5 to 1.

Before undertaking teacher training, it is recommended that students have previously received Alexander Technique lessons for their own development and personal knowledge. Each school specifies the experience required before approving a student’s entry.
